In my opinion, the elements that matter.
First things first - you have to know what you are talking about whether it being the car's history or the car as a whole in terms of the stats, practicality, and comfort.
What would make someone decide to buy a certain car?
Well, usually the way it makes them feel which can be anything from the level of luxury the car offers or maybe the comfort is appealing and even something simpler like the boot size. Usually, the customer I came across had kids so of course, they are looking for space and safety, for some reason comfort wasn't so high on their list which I never really understood - surely you'd want to have some level of comfort too?
In my experience, no one cares about nitty-gritty details on the car like how much power it makes or how long you can drive before the engine blows up. Comfort and luxury are usually the key focuses.
Should you be completely honest when selling a car?
Well, I want to say yes but we all know the answer. You want to sell the car, if you're going to be honest chances are you'll never end up selling it. Used cars all have their own array of issues, of course, can be from something that's broken or something that's fixed but not quite showroom condition to something hidden that you won't necessarily know of unless you look for it. If you tell someone what's wrong most of the time they couldn't be bothered.

Is it easy to sell a used car?
The simple answer is no. It's not easy to sell any car at this point in time unless you're catering for millionaires and mob bosses. Sure it's much easier to sell a used car than what it would be to sell a brand new one - you'll still have a kidney left. Even the bare-bones standard cars nowadays require you to sacrifice a body part.
I think the most important part of selling a car is the initial call or contact with said client and not many people actually understand that the time it takes to actually contact the client is important. Often times I would actually for research purposes enquire on a car that I could definitely never afford - to see how long the salesperson would take to actually contact me and usually they never do which just comes to show that there aren't many good salespeople out there.
Perseverance is key
You have to be determined but not forceful of course. You have to push through and convince them to buy this car and why it would look amazing in their garage. If you can find out what it is that they are looking for in a car you can hammer on those insights that they gave to you with hopes that helps a little.
These are just things I've learned as a salesperson
No, it's not scientific. Could be, but this isn't.
